A6 Randalstown - Castledawson Dualling Scheme

Delivered by the Department for Infrastructure the A6 Dualling Scheme will upgrade 14.7 kilometres of  Transport Corridor between Randalstown and Castledawson, a route used by 18,000 vehicles each day, which often experiences congestion at key times.

Graham Farrans Joint Venture have been awarded the contract of this essential work, which once completed, will bring long term social and economic benefits to the local area.

The flagship investment of £160m will strengthen the links between Belfast and Derry/ Londonderry and will bring the long term benefits to road users and the local community of reduced journey times and improved road safety.

Work is being carried out on an area based construction programme and is expected to be completed by 2021.

    To facilitate tie-in works to the area's new link road.
  • B18 exit to Toome at the Drumderg Roundabout will be closed at NIGHT on Monday 12 November & Tuesday 13 November 2018
    To facilitate works on the new Drumderg Roundabout
  • A6 Glenshane turn off will be closed at the Castledawson Roundabout from 10pm Wednesday 14 November - 6am Thursday 15 Novemeber 2018
    To facilitate NIW Works. Diversion via Hillhead Road
