Works on the A6 Randalstown – Castledawson Dualling Scheme are progressing well, with the construction of the projects structures now underway.

To facilitate the construction of these new structures and other essential works a number of NIGHT/ WEEKEND WORKS will be commencing on the A6 Dualling Scheme from Friday 26 January 2018 .

  • 10pm Fri 26 – 6am Mon 29 Jan
  • 10pm Fri 2 –  6am Mon 5 Feb
  • 10pm Fri 9 –  6am Mon 12 Feb
  • 10pm Fri 16 – 6am Mon 19 Feb
  • 10pm Fri 23 – 6am Mon 26 Feb
  • 10pm Fri 2 – 6am Mon 5 Mar
  • 10pm Fri 9 – 6am Mon 12 Mar
  • Additional dates to be confirmed

The works will involve a full closure of the A6 Mainline. During the works a traffic marshal will be employed full time to ensure pedestrian access is maintained and vehicular access is maintained to affected properties on the Brough Rd South.

To try to minimise disruption a lane closure will take place from 7pm – 10pm to start works early and mitigate noisy activities

Unfortunately, with a project of this scale and nature, some disruption will be inevitable with increased noise and light levels.  However, please be assured we will do everything in our power to keep inconvenience to a minimum with visual screening and noise monitoring.

Aside to these works a Temporary Closure of the Brough Rd  is planned for Mid-February 2018 to enable utility works and the Permanent Closure of Brough Rd North onto the A6 Mainline is planned to take place in March 2018.

We hope you agree that the long term benefits this investment will bring will far outweigh any temporary inconvenience experienced.
